FrameWorks - Jim Laitinen

About Jim Laitinen

I started working at The FrameWorks in August of 1992. I applied for two jobs on the same day—one was The FrameWorks, the other was for a dish washing position at The Lexington. The Lexington never called me back (oh, what might have been...).

I have degrees in Art and Math from The University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. My focuses in Art were Painting and Printmaking. I was never very focused in Math.

I have wanted to be an Artist all my life; when I was five years old, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said "Five." When pressed further, I said "An Artist." And that, or professional basketball player, have been my answers ever since.

I have been active as an Artist for the last 25 years (and really, for all of my life), though my production has waned in the last 7-1/2 years after the birth of my son, Bodhi.

I live with my wife and son, a very excitable Beagle and a very talkative Bombay Cat in South Saint Paul in a 100-year-old house that seems to be in need of constant attention.
